New Mexico truly lives up to its motto "The Land of enchantment". Unlike any of the other  states its Spanish Colonial and Indian culture is  infused in its traditions and architecture. Yet it has been the birthplace of technology that has changed the world forever, The atomic bomb was developed and the first one detonated in New Mexico. Software giant Microsoft was founded in Albuquerque.

My first exposure to this amazing state came in 1960 when I was stationed at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. Carole joined me there after we were married and lived there until mid 1963. We have made many trips back including twice to attend the "Hot Air Balloon Fiesta" held in Albuquerque in October. It is the biggest gathering and mass launch of hot air balloons in the world, with up to as many as 500 beautiful and odd shaped balloons. Mass launches of hundreds take place at dawn each day.

Come with us to The Land of Enchantment  and virtually visit Indian Pueblos, museums  and ghost towns, New Mexico is home to the Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, Santa Fe, Taos and more.  Spaceport America located near a town called Truth or Consequences.
